Sprint / Samsung discontinues i500

Who Cares? Even some of the hard core Palm users never heard of this unit. I just picked one up and will be providing a review soon as to just why we should all be sorry to see the end of what was to be Samsung Palm. Here are a couple of reviews: http://hardware.gamespot.com/Story-ST-912-x-8-8-x and http://www.brighthand.com/article/Samsung_i500_review

Pocket Monkey – MIA?

If anyone knows where I can get a copy of Pocket Monkey please let me know. Don’t let this little a-hole of a chimp go extinct!

Palm IIIc can still be used to generate some cool factor.

These units make great desktop photo displays (can be set to show continuous slide show of family members for instance, or to easily change photo between one of your many girlfriend pictures depending on which one is visiting…. :) This unit is running a program called Mandala which draws fractals which look pretty cool. There was another program (Pocket Monkey) I wanted to put on this as I thought it would be fun but I have been unable to find a download.

What does one do with an old Palm IIIc?

There was a time when this was the coolest cutting edge item you could pull out of your pocket… BUT time marches on and now there are thousands of these on their slow last journeys via infrequently opened desk draws and cardboard boxes to a final resting place in the local land fill….
It would be nice if they could all get a second life in some third world country so they could again for a time be the coolest cutting edge item that you can pull out of your pocket…… BUT this is not likely.
